Skykomish still alive in playoff race

SKYKOMISH — Skykomish stayed in contention for a Bi-District playoff berth with a 3-1 Northwest 1B League victory over Grace Academy Friday.

The Rockets improved to 4-6 in league (5-9 overall), one match behind Highland Christian (5-5), their next opponent on Tuesday.

Komal Sandhu served 21-for-22 and had three kills and Rachel Parker served 14-for-15 and had 17 assists to lead Skykomish to the 25-12, 26-24, 20-25, 25-23 win. Bayley Galbreath had five service aces for Grace Academy (2-8, 2-9).

Stanwood 3, Snohomish 0: At Snohomish, Chelsea Campbell had 26 assists, Leah Titus had four service aces and 22 digs and Tarin Nicholas had 11 kills and nine digs to lead Stanwood (4-3 league, 5-7 overall) to the Wesco North win. Shayla McCaffrey led Snohomish (2-4, 5-6) with eight kills and four blocks.
