Snohomish dominates strong field with 1-2 finish

LYNNWOOD — Snohomish runners Lucy Miller and Amanda Stopa capped off the Panthers’ dominating performance in their non-conference victory by tying for first place with a time of 18 minutes, 5 seconds Thursday at Lynndale Park.

Snohomish, which had four other runners finish in the top 10, finished with 17 points followed by Stanwood (46), Edmonds-Woodway (93) and Marysville-Pilchuck (96).

Snohomish’s Alyssa Modrell finished third, one second behind Miller and Stopa. Kara Sporrong (fifth), Kim Holland (sixth) and Ashley Meyer (seventh) rounded out Snohomish’s strong contingent. Stanwood’s Stacy Huffman finished in fourth place with a time of 18:16.
