Rob Serviss is the new head coach of the Snohomish High School girls swimming team.
Serviss, who already coaches the Snohomish High boys team, was hired Friday, Snohomish athletic director Mark Albertine said.
Serviss guided the Snohomish boys to two straight Class 4A state championships (2006 and 2007). He takes over the girls team following the departure of longtime coach John Pringle, who in 1990 started the school’s boys and girls swimming programs. Pringle, who turned the Snohomish girls team into one of the state’s best, recently resigned after 17 seasons because his job as district aquatic supervisor was eliminated after Hal Moe Pool closed due to structural problems.
“Serviss is a skilled coach who will help the Snohomish girls program continue its winning tradition,” Albertine said. “His record speaks for itself as far as the success of the boys program. He’s a solid coach and he really focuses on the technical aspects of swimming.”
