I just updated my story about Saturday’s Northwest Tour opener at Evergreen Speedway with the following paragraph:
Friday’s practice was canceled because of unfavorable conditions — rain was reported in Monroe and snow in Snohomish — but speedway officials were optimistic Friday afternoon that the races could be run. Gates open at 3:30 p.m. and the first race is scheduled for 7 p.m.
It started snowing in Marysville about 2:30 p.m., and although it wasn’t sticking it was keeping everything wet.
So, what does that mean for Saturday’s Tour race? Well, all the weather sites I’ve been looking at are saying rain and/or snow through to Sunday for the Monroe area.
I’ll still be there, with fingers crossed and dressed appropriately, but something tells me we may not get to see much racing. Here’s hoping …
