The Washington Stealth announced the signing of free agent forward Andrew Potter on Wednesday. The deal is pending league approval
Potter was drafted by the Rochester Knighthawks in the first round of the 2007 NLL Entry Draft. He comes to the Stealth looking to finally nail down a spot on an NLL roster.
Potter has appeared in just five games in his NLL career, two with Rochester in his rookie season in 2008, one with Colorado in 2009, and he returned to Rochester in 2010, playing in two more games. In total, Potter has scored two goals and collected 18 looseballs in his career.
“Andrew is a very versatile player that continues to improve year by year,” Stealth head coach Chris Hall said in a press release. “He’s flown under the radar a bit and we are lucky to have signed him. He was a first round pick for a reason and he is showing signs now that he can be a very good player in the NLL.
Potter will be a training camp later this fall competing for a spot on the Stealth’s 23-man active roster for the 2012 season.
