EVERETT — Fourth-seeded Mountlake Terrace (17-2) closed on a 14-3 run to end the game and came from behind to beat No. 7 Ferndale (11-11) by a score of 58-53 in the 3A District 1 Tournament championship game on Saturday night.
The district title was Mountlake Terrace’s first since 2012.
Boht teams advanced to the 3A state tournament next weekend. Seedings for the tournament will be announced at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association.
