ALLEN, Texas — Snohomish County football fans may get a chance to see Terrell Owens play at Comcast Arena.
The six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver has accepted an offer to play for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League. The Wranglers are scheduled to play the Everett Raptors on March 1 at Comcast Arena in the Raptors’ home opener.
The Wranglers, who open their season Feb. 25 at home, extended an offer to Owens last month. They posted on their website Thursday that they were excited to announce he had agreed to join the team.
In a video message on his Twitter page, Owens said he’s “headed back to Texas.” He played for the Dallas Cowboys from 2006-08. Owens ended his short clip saying, “Allen, Texas, I’ll see you in the end zone.”
The 38-year-old Owens didn’t get any NFL offers last season after undergoing surgery on his left knee.
