The Catch-up – Thursday, Oct. 20

LAST NIGHT

• The favorites in Wesco North, South and 3A tennis singles play all won their respective divisional tournaments Wednesday with Gergo Muller, Mitch Williamson and Juan Ramirez coming out on top. All three players will have the Wesco No. 1 seed going into next Tuesday’s District 1 Tournament. For full results click on the league: North South 3A

• The Edmonds-Woodway girls soccer team won its sixth consecutive game, beating Mariner 6-0 behind a goal and three assists from sophomore midfielder Savanah VanCitters. The win streak has the Warriors in second place behind Jackson. The two teams face off again tonight at 6 p.m. at Goddard Stadium. Next week is a big one for E-W, with the Warriors facing Kamiak and Jackson.

TONIGHT

• The Lynnwood and Meadowdale volleyball teams renew their rivalry tonight (Follow us @heraldnetpreps for updates) with playoff implications on the line. The Royals need a win to stay in the race for a top-3 seed in the district tournament while the Mavs can tighten their hold on first place. (7 p.m. at Meadowdale H.S.)

• Glacier Peak and Oak Harbor, both 7-2 in Wesco 3A play, face off (7 p.m., Oak Harbor H.S.) as does Mountlake Terrace and Shorecrest (7 p.m., Mountlake Terrace H.S.) as the Hawks try to keep their playoff hopes alive.

• The Archbishop Murphy girls soccer team attempts to avenge an earlier season loss to Lakewood tonight (Follow us @heraldnetpreps for updates). Both teams are currently tied for second place in the league behind Cedarcrest. (6 p.m., Archbishop Murphy H.S.)

• Kamiak and Jackson girls soccer teams also battle (7:30 p.m., Kamiak H.S.) in a game that could tighten up the Wesco South race and keep the Knights’ hopes alive for a second-place finish. Behind a Cara Wegner goal, the Timberwolves won the first meeting between the two teams in September.

• The Everett girls soccer team puts its undefeated mark on the line when it hosts Glacier Peak (7 p.m., Lincoln Field). The Grizzlies need the win to keep their hopes alive for a second-place finish.
