What’s going on in the blogosphere today? Let’s take a look:
Yahoo! sports’ Jay Busbee thinks too many teams at Daytona are running just for the appearance money. Really? And that’s a problem how? If I could get $250K for standing on the sideline at the Super Bowl, don’t you think I should/would? I do. Gotta disagree with that one.
Bruce Martin at SI.com thinks the small startup teams could save NASCAR. I’m not sure he’s right, but I love an underdog, so I can dream, right?
Speaking of startups, veteran and now independent NASCAR writer Mike Mulhern is looking for some feedback on what issues readers want him to dig into. As an “inside outsider” (as it were) MIke can peer into some dark corners, so drop him a line and let him know.
You know Jayski.com always has good info, including an unofficial Daytona 500 entry list.
Finally, Dave Newton at ESPN.com says give Joey Logano a break. What’s the worst part of that article? He compares Logano wrecking Peyton Sellers at Irwindale last weekend with my favorite racing memory — the 1976 Daytona 500 finish where Richard Petty and David Pearson wrecked with the checkered flag in sight. Kinda/sorta similiar, I’ll grant you, but I’d say the Petty-Pearson wreck was more of a — wait for it — racin’ deal than the Logano-Sellers situation.
