DOVER, Del. — Martin Truex Jr. turned a lap of 157.315 mph and has won the pole for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race at Dover International Speedway.
Kasey Kahne was second and Mark Martin third in Friday’s qualifying.
Truex won his first pole of the season and first since last November at Phoenix. He won his only career Cup race at Dover in 2007.
The native of Mayetta, N.J., has long considered Dover his hometown track.
He is 13th in the points standings in his first season with Michael Waltrip Racing.
