Welcome from the center of the hockey universe. We’re about 30 minutes from the U.S. vs. Canada for gold, and I’ve got a hunch that whatever happens, this town is gonna go nuts one way or another.
So much of Canada’s success in these Olympics will be defined by what happens in the next three periods of hockey. Never mind the 13 gold medals won so far, Canada needs this game. Has to have this game.
The U.S. just took the ice for warm-ups, and not at all surprisingly there were a whole lot of boos from the crowd. A few red, white and blue fans are mixed into the crowd here, but it’s probably a solid 95 percent Canadian fans.
Given how good the atmosphere was here when these teams played in pool play a week ago, I’ve got to think it’s going to be nuts in here when things get started in 30 minutes.
I’ll try to post some updates here, but the wireless goes in and out, so I may just stick to twitter updates until after the game.
