KALISPELL, Mont. — Montana Raceway Park announced Monday it will hold its first annual John Deere Triple W Equipment Flathead Valley 75 for ARCA West OK Tire Sportsman Series, ICAR Late Model, Katana Sportsman Tour and Limited Late Model Series race teams on Aug. 8, 2009.

The event is geared to be a showdown of limited and sportsman type late model race cars and will be held yearly two to three weeks after the Montana 200.

ARCA West OK Tire Sportsman and Katana Sportsman Tour teams are based in Western Canada while ICAR and Limited Late Model teams call the Pacific Northwest home.

A total purse of $8,000 with an out of state or province tow bonus to any of the four series teams that make the A-Main will be paid. Raceway Park will offer a B-main purse as well. A total of 12 starting positions are up for grabs through time trials with qualifying heats determining the next six positions and four positions available from a B-Main. Raceway Park does reserve the right to add a provisional starting position.

Participants will declare on their entry form which series they are affiliated with and will run that groups rules package and tires against the other teams. Raceway Park officials will conduct the pre-race and post race technical inspections but will also have input from the various series inspectors. Raceway Park technical decisions will be final.

Scoring will be done electronically using Raceway Park’s transponder system. Those teams that have a sending unit must provide that information to the track so it can be recorded into the timing and scoring software. If a team does not have a transponder one can be secured for the event at a nominal fee.

“We’re looking forward to having this become an annual tradition for our facility and it allows each group the opportunity to race here which for many would be their first time at Raceway Park,” said Montana Raceway Park General Manager, Justin Rody.

“Over the course of the month of March we’ll be working to contact the teams and explain our goal for this race which is allowing a limited and sportsman type late model car the chance to race here on the quarter-mile and put on a great show for our fans and the owners and employees of John Deere Triple W Equipment.”

Entry forms will be available online at www.montanaracewaypark.com by March 15. For more information regarding the John Deere Triple W Equipment Flathead Valley 75 call Montana Raceway Park at (406) 257-7223 or email info@montanaracewaypark.com
