It’s official: None of our local teams will have a chance to play for a 2A or 3A state basketball championship. But several squads still have a chance to earn a top-eight trophy.
The Glacier Peak boys team lost 74-61 against strong and speedy Lakes in the 3A quarterfinals on Thursday at the Tacoma Dome. And the Shorecrest girls squad fell 65-52 versus Cleveland late Thursday night in the 3A quarterfinals, also at the T-Dome.
Elsewhere in the 3A tournaments, the Meadowdale boys stayed alive with a 55-43 loser-out victory over Foster. But the Lynnwood girls team was eliminated in a close one (54-51) against Yelm.
Over in Yakima, Archbishop Murphy bounced back from its surprising first-round loss on Wednesday by beating Black Hills 54-44 on Thursday.
