MADISON, Wis. – Jessie Stomski scored 22 points and had 13 rebounds for her 25th career double-double as Wisconsin upset No. 19 Washington 87-67 on Sunday night.
Kyle Black added 21 points, and Tamara Moore 18 in the season opener for the Badgers, who never trailed.
Andrea Lalum led Washington with 20 points.
The Badgers led 54-42 when the Huskies rallied four minutes into the second half, keeping Wisconsin scoreless for a 9-0 run. The Badgers recovered control with an inbound pass from Moore to Stomski to put the score at 56-51.
The Huskies were within one at 56-55 after a timeout, but a Moore jumper and a drive by freshman Stephanie Rich made it 60-55 and started Wisconsin’s drive for the win.
