Varady extended

It’s winding down as players officially report this evening. An early bit of news is that Tips associate head coach Jay Varady had his contracted extended. He’s now under contract through the 2010-11 season. Varady has been a member of the Everett coaching staff since day one, and this will be his third season as associate head coach.

I guess the most interesting part of this is seeing the differing fates of Everett’s coaches following last season. Head coach John Becanic was fired, Varady had his contract extended and assistant coach Mark LeRose left for a job in the AHL. Quite the variety of outcomes after what was a topsy turvy season.
