Vega scores midway through second half to give Tigers 1-0 win

EVERETT – Burlington-Edison’s Marco Vega scored 20 minutes into the second half and the Tigers boys soccer team shut out Everett 1-0 Wednesday night at Everett Memorial Stadium.

“It was really a good game both ways. Pretty fast-paced, up and down the field a lot,” Everett coach Todd Uderitz said.

Everett continued its toughness defensively, but struggled offensively.

The Seagulls finished with just seven shots on goal, compared to Burlington-Edison’s nine.

Everett goalkeeper Cody Bagley “played very well” said Uderitz and had “at least eight saves.”

Vega’s goal came after an Everett foul resulted in a free kick just outside the penalty area.

It was Everett’s second consecutive game. The Seagulls tied Granite Falls 1-1 Tuesday evening.
