Vote for The Herald’s Prep Athlete of the Week for April 24-30

The Athlete of the Week nominees for April 24-30. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced with the next poll and in next Tuesday’s edition of The Herald.

Kalia Estes | Kamiak | Girls Track and Field

Estes, a senior, posted winning times in the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles events at the Eason Invitational at Snohomish High School on April 22. She ran the 100 hurdles in 15.29 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 45.14 seconds. Estes won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week voting for April 17-23 by claiming 692 (32.6%) of 2,120 votes.

Conrad Chisman | Stanwood | Boys Golf

Chisman, a junior, claimed medalist honors at a pair of eight-team Wesco 3A matches over the week. He fired a 2-under 34 on April 24 at Walter Hall Golf Course and a 1-under 34 on April 26 at Cedarcrest Golf Course.

Otto Erhart | Shorewood | Boys Track and Field

Erhart, a sophomore, ran a personal-best time of 4 minutes, 27.19 seconds in the 1600 meters to earn first place at the Shoreline Invitational on April 29.

Mary Feider | Arlington | Girls Track and Field

Feider, a senior, cleared 5 feet, 4 inches to claim first place in the high jump at the Shoreline Invitational on April 29.

Ben Hanson | Edmonds-Woodway | Boys Soccer

Hanson, a senior, scored the winning goal in overtime to help the Warriors maintain first place in Wesco 3A/2A with a 2-1 victory over Monroe on April 28.

Shayne Hoekendorf | Everett | Softball

Hoekendorf, a senior, went 4-for-5 with a home run, triple and four runs scored and also allowed just one unearned run with six strikeouts in three innings of relief as the Seagulls beat Marysville Pilchuck 16-6 on April 26.

Kellan Johns | Jackson | Baseball

Johns, a senior, tossed a five-inning no-hitter and was hit batter shy of a perfect game in the Timberwolves’ 10-0 victory over the Vikings on April 25.

Samantha Rowher | Kamiak | Softball

Rowher, a senior, hit the go-ahead two-run home run to lift the Knights to a 2-1 win over Jackson in a battle of Wesco 4A contenders on April 25.
