The frosh guard set Lynnwood’s freshman record with 32 points — including 20 in the second half — to propel the Royals (1-2) to their first win of the season on Dec. 11. Wilson added 14 points against Edmonds-Woodway on Dec. 13. Wilson won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week for Dec. 1-7 by claiming 411 (55.99%) of the 734 votes.

Isaiah Heist | Lake Stevens wrestling
Heist won the 126 weight class at the Mount Tahoma Classic by pinning Mount Tahoma’s Alex Gomez at the end of the second round.
Cameron Hiatt | Edmonds-Woodway basketball.
The Warriors remained undefeated through Jan. 3, thanks to Hiatt’s performances: 23 points, six rebounds and four assists on Jan. 3; 14 points on Dec. 30; 26 points on Dec. 29; 23 points on Dec. 27; 16 points and 10 rebounds on Dec. 23.
Junior Kagarabi | Shorecrest basketball
The senior guard scored 31 points on Jan. 2 and 32 points on Dec. 30 as the Scots stayed perfect to set up Tuesday night’s matchup with Edmonds-Woodway.
Brynna Pukis | Glacier Peak basketball
The senior guard scored 23 points on Jan. 3, 22 points on Dec. 28 and 22 points on Dec. 26 to lead the Grizzlies.
