The Athlete of the Week nominees for Feb. 3-9. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced on next week’s Prep Focus page. Each weekly winner will be included in an Athlete of the Month poll.

Brayden Corwin | Glacier Peak | Boys Basketball

Corwin, a senior wing, made his only basket of the game count Wednesday night, sinking a 3-pointer with about 90 seconds remaining in a Wesco 4A game against Jackson. The bucket gave the Grizzlies the lead for good en route to a 54-51 win.

Austin Davis | Marysville Pilchuck | Boys Wrestling

Davis, a senior, beat Stanwood freshman Keaton Mayernik 9-8 Saturday in the championship bout at 120 pounds at the 3A North Sub-Regional in Snohomish. Mayernik pinned Davis when the two matched up during a dual meet last month.

Kiley Hubby | Lake Stevens | Girls Wrestling

Hubby, a senior ranked third in the state at 170 pounds by Washington Wrestling Report, won a 4-0 decision over Ferndale’s Alex Brulotte, ranked fourth, to capture the 170-pound title at the Northwest District North Sub-Regional on Saturday at Squalicum High School.

Elijah Johnson | Shorecrest | Boys Basketball

Johnson, a sophomore guard, scored a game-high 25 points in the Scots’ 82-79 overtime victory over Stanwood in a Wesco 3A/2A clash Feb. 3. It was just the second conference loss of the season for Stanwood.

Aaron Kalab | Marysville Pilchuck | Boys Basketball

Kalab, a senior wing, scored a game-high 24 points Friday as the Tomahawks clinched their second consecutive Wesco 3A/2A championship with a 65-35 victory over Everett.

Adria Lincoln | Monroe | Girls Basketball

Lincoln, a freshman, scored 24 of the Bearcats’ 47 points in a 47-32 win over Kamiak in a Wesco 4A matchup Feb. 4.

Kiana Lino | Shorecrest | Girls Basketball

Lino, a junior center, scored 15 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and hit a key 3-pointer in overtime as the Scots maintained control of the Wesco 3A/2A title race with a 59-52 win over Edmonds-Woodway on Feb. 4.

Ella Sylvester | Everett | Girls Basketball

Sylvester, a sophomore guard, scored a game-high 29 points, including 17 in the fourth quarter, as the Seagulls beat Stanwood 56-48 in a Wesco 3A/2A contest Feb. 4.
