Vote for The Herald’s Prep Athlete of the Week for March 16-22

The Athlete of the Week nominees for March 16-22. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced with the next poll and in next Wednesday’s paper.

Rose Gallagher | Shorewood softball

The first baseman recorded two of her three hits in the sixth inning and drove in the final two runs of the game with a go-ahead, two-run single as the Stormrays erased a 7-0 deficit to win 8-7 over Lake Washington on March 14. On March 12, Gallagher went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, a walk and two runs scored in a win over Holy Names. Gallagher won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week for March 9-15 by claiming 231 (41.71%) of the 863 votes.

Zach Mohr | Archbishop Murphy boys soccer

Mohr recorded a hat trick in the Wildcats’ 5-0 win over Meadowdale on March 21.

Aiden Jones | Arlington baseball

Jones struck out 12 in 6 1/3 innings on the mound for the Eagles in a 3-0 shutout of Glacier Peak on March 21.

Otto Nicholson | Glacier Peak boys soccer

The senior netted a hat trick in a 4-3 win over Meadowdale on March 20.

Riley Pevny | Lakewood softball

Penvy hit for the cycle while going 4-for-5 and closed out the game by catching a line drive for the final out of a 23-21 win over Mount Baker on March 20.

Emma Stansfield | Kamiak softball

The Knights scored 43 runs in three games, led by their shortstop. Stansfield went 8-for-14, with two triples, a double, seven RBI, eight runs and two stolen bases in Kamiak’s 3-0 week.
