The Athlete of the Week nominees for Nov. 4-10. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced on next week’s Prep Focus page. Each weekly winner will be included in an Athlete of the Month poll.

Kendall Bensen and Audrey Marrs | Snohomish | Girls Swimming

Bensen, a sophomore, and Marrs, a senior, won two events apiece and each was a member of the Panthers’ victorious 400 freestyle relay team Saturday at the 3A Northwest District Championships. The pair helped Snohomish finish second behind Shorecrest in the 13-team meet.

Mia Chang| Jackson | Girls Swimming

Chang, a junior, set a meet record of 54.46 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke to the lead the Timberwolves to the team title Saturday at the 4A Northwest District Championships. Chang also won the 200 individual medley and was part of two first-place relay teams.

Katie Cheng | Jackson | Girls Soccer

Cheng, a senior forward/midfielder, scored the winning goal for the Timberwolves’ in a 2-1 victory over Redmond on Nov. 5 in an elimination match in the 4A Wes-King Bi-District Tournament.

Isaac Cortes | Granite Falls | Boys Cross Country

Cortes, a senior, placed third in the Class 1A boys race Saturday at the State Cross Country Championships at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco. He covered the 5,000-meter course in 16:03 to finish third for the second consecutive year.

Erin Ingram | Jackson | Volleyball

Ingram, a junior outside hittter/middle blocker, collected 23 kills in the Timberwolves’ 3-2 win over Issaquah on Saturday in the quarterfinals of the 4A Wes-King Bi-District Tournament.

Kasen Kinchen | Lake Stevens | Football

Kinchen, a senior, caught eight passes for 226 yards and three touchdowns in the top-ranked Vikings’ 49-14 win over Tahoma on Friday in a Week 10 playoff game.

Ryann Reynolds | Glacier Peak | Girls Soccer

Reynolds, a freshman forward, scored the game-winning goal in the Grizzlies’ 3-2 overtime victory over Eastlake on Nov. 5. The win earned the Grizzlies a berth in the Class 4A state tournament.

Josiah Santiago | Archbishop Murphy | Football

Santiago, a senior, rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on just five carries in a 23-6 win over Sedro-Woolley on Friday. The victory earned the Wildcats a berth in the Class 2A state tournament.

Aviry Stratton | Glacier Peak | Girls Cross Country

Stratton, a senior, placed fourth in the Class 4A girls race Saturday at the State Cross Country Championships at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco. Stratton covered the 5,000-meter course in 18 minutes, 26.7 seconds.
