The senior running back led the Eagles to a Stilly Cup victory with 96 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Reed won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week for Oct. 6-12 by claiming 322 (44.97%) of 716 votes.
This week’s nominees
Colby Bossert | Jackson
The junior quarterback threw for 225 yards and four touchdowns in three quarters of work in a 54-21 triumph over Mariner. He also rushed for 25 yards and — though not a football stat — was named homecoming king at halftime.
Benjamin Dilger | Sultan
The senior rushed for 105 yards on just 10 carries and scored twice as Sultan defeated Jefferson 34-7.
Keagan Howard | Lake Stevens
Playing in just the first half of the Vikings 63-6 win over Ferndale, the senior tight end and linebacker recorded four catches for 116 yards and three touchdowns to ago along with 15 tackles, including three tackles for loss.
Gatsby Palmer | Shorewood
The senior running back carried the ball 17 times for 91 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-13 win over Edmonds-Woodway to keep the Stormrays in the playoff hunt.
