Samuel Gooch | Marysville Getchell
The senior fullback rushed for 145 yards on 27 carries and caught a pass for 12 yards in the Chargers’ 21-7 victory over Mount Vernon. On defense, the middle linebacker also recorded a team-high seven tackles. Gooch won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week for Sept. 8-14 by claiming 784 (34.43%) of the 2,227 votes.

Hunter Anderson | Darrington
The junior quarterback completed 10 of 17 passes for 407 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for a 40-yard TD among his 59 rushing yards as the Loggers outlasted the Charles Wright, 48-42, in a Northwest 2B/1B game.
Aaron Clifton | Monroe
The senior wide receiver rushed for 164 yards — including a 91-yarder — and three TDs on five carries in a 49-7 win over Shorewood on Friday. He also caught one pass for 11 yards.
Keagan Howard | Lake Stevens
The senior linebacker recorded 10 tackles, including two sacks and four tackles for loss, while playing in only the first half of a 57-0 win over Cascade. He also contributed on offense with two catches for 36 yards from the tight end position.
Leyton Martin | Arlington
The senior quarterback completed 12 of 17 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for a TD in little over a half of play in a 49-21 triumph over Jackson on Friday.
