Weekend feedback

Lori Gellerson says:

As a man who is obviously in the know, who is the captain for the Silvertips this year? My 11 year old son and I have been debating who we think it will be. He keeps reminding me that whoever it is better watch out because last year wearing a “C” on your uniform stood for “CUT”!!!! No, we still don’t agree with Soertart on that move, but he clearly doesn’t give a crap what the fans think. Good thing we love hockey and these players more than we detest Soertart.

OK, why don’t I stick to the captain question. I suspect that Brennan Sonne, Dane Crowley and Jonathan Harty are the players in the mix for the “C”. However, the Tips can’t really make a final decision until they clear up their overager situation — can’t make Sonne the captain then bid farewell to him on Oct. 11. Everett’s always had an overager as captain throughout franchise history, and both Sonne and Crowley are qualified, so I’d guess one of them has the inside track. But isn’t it long overdue for a member of that 2003 bantam draft class to take over the leadership? Regardless, any one of the three would do a great job.
