SHORELINE — Trevelyan Podawiltz hit an RBI single to give the E-W the lead in the top of the eighth, and the Warriors (15-6 overall, 10-2 league) held on to sweep the season series with Shorewood (13-7, 8-4) and claim their third straight league title. Lukas Wanke pitched seven innings for the win, improving his record to 6-0. The junior allowed five hits while striking out four and walking 3. Finn Crawford pitched a 1-2-3 eighth inning for the save. Podawiltz finished 2-for-4 with two RBI, and leadoff hitter Andreas Simonsen went 3-for-3 with a walk while scoring all three Warriors runs. Edmonds-Woodway will host Monroe 2 p.m. Saturday in the double-elimination portion of the 3A District 1 Tournament.
Joey Facilla threw six innings for the Stormrays while striking out eight and walking two. Shorewood will play at Snohomish, also at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Mountlake Terrace 7, Archbishop Murphy 6 hit a 2-RBI
EVERETT — In the top of the seventh, Jeremy Perrault scored on a Liam Moore single and an Archbishop Murphy error, and Moore (3 1/2 innings pitched, one run) got three outs in the bottom of the inning as the Hawks held on. Mason Reinhard hit a 2-RBI double for the Wildcats. Terrace, which finished third in the South, on Thursday will host Tuesday’s Ferndale-Shorecrest winner in a loser-out, 3A District 1 playoff game. Archbishop Murphy opens the double-elimination portion of the 2A District 1 Tournament on Thursday at Sehome H.S.

LAKE STEVENS — Aspen Alexander hit one too many doubles for a cycle. The Lake Stevens senior shortstop went 4-for-4 with a home run, a triple and two doubles to go along with five RBI and four runs to take part in all the runs needed for the league-champion Vikings. Billy Kooy went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Eagles. Arlington, which finished fourth, will open the play-in portion of the 4A District 1 tournament 4 p.m. Thursday at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue. Lake Stevens begins the double-elimination part of the bracket on Saturday.
