Just two more days before players report for training camp.
In the meantime, here’s an update on former Tip Damir Alic. Alic was a center who played for Everett from 2005-07. He was notable for being a member of the famed’s “Joe Line,” he was the first Washington state resident to suit up for the Tips, and he somehow fit in a full class load at the University of Washington during the 2006-07 season.
Well, I received a e-mail informing me that Alic was one of two UW students to earn a $3,000 scholarship from Skanska, a local construction company. Alic also was offered an internship with Skanska, and he’s currently working on Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle. He’s on schedule to graduate next spring.
