Williams tallies 200th win as Silvertips down Oil Kings

Olen Zellweger scored three times in the third period to lift Everett to a 6-2 milestone victory for its head coach.

EVERETT — Olen Zellweger scored three times in a four-goal third period as Everett broke open a tied game and stormed to a 6-2 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings, giving Dennis Williams his 200th win as Silvertips head coach.

Ryan Hofer scored twice, Austin Roest added a goal and Jackson Berezowski and Matthew Paszkiewicz each had two assists for the Silvertips, who outshot the Oil Kings 50-15.

Tim Metzger made 13 saves in goal for Everett (4-1-0-0).

Kolby Hay had 44 saves and Rhett Melnyk scored twice for Edmonton (1-5-1-0).

Williams, who is also the Silvertips’ general manager, improved his overall record to 200-63-22.
