PULLMAN — Washington State University golfer, Austin Hurt of Bainbridge Island shot a course record 65 to win the 83rd Washington State Men’s Amateur Championship. Hurt was 9 strokes behind the leader to start the day, and put together the best round ever shot at Palouse Ridge Golf Club, a 7-under par 65 to win.
Local finishers included Jonathan Keane of Edmonds and Bob Burton of Everett, who finished in a three-way tie for 14th with a three-round total of 294; Kris Jackson of Snohomish, who tied for 38th at 303; Julian Peters of Mukilteo, who tied for 43rd at 304; Matt Epstein of Monroe, who tied for 47th at 307; Reid Martin of Mukilteo, who tied for 49th at 308, and Francis Santiago of Lynnwood, who was 55th at 311.
