The New Everett Theatre in collaboration with Monroe’s Sky Performing Arts group presents “Seussical the Musical,” a musical adaptation of the children’s books by Dr. Seuss. The production opens at 8 p.m. Friday, June 2 and continues with shows at 8 p.m Saturday, June 3, and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 4.

Dr. Seuss’s characters, including the Cat in the Hat, the Grinch, Horton from Horton Hear a Who, and the Whos from Whoville come to life to restore harmony in the imaginary “Jungle of Nool” after chaos erupts. These classic, colorful tales are seamlessly brought together by Jojo, a young boy and “thinker of strange and wonderful thinks.”

Featured songs included are “Oh, The Thinks You Can Think!” “Horton Hears A Who,” “A Day for The Cat in The Hat,” “How To Raise A Child,” “Alone In The Universe” and “How Lucky You Are.”

“Seussical the Musical,” was co-conceived by Lynn Ahrens, Steven Flaherty and Monty Python’s Eric Idle, with music by Flaherty and lyrics by Ahrens. Ahrens and Flaherty share authorship of the book, based on the words of Dr. Seuss. The Everett Theatre’s production of “Seussical the Musical” is directed by Loretta Nichols.

Tickets are $11 to $18, available at the theater box office, open 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, by calling 425-258-6766 or online at www.everetttheatre.org. The Everett Theatre is located at 2911 Colby, Everett.
