Yost Park just a little safer, just a little cleaner
Yost Park’s north entrance is now a little safer thanks to the efforts of an Edmonds Eagle Scout.
Adam Park, from Boy Scout Troop 301, got help from the Edmonds parks department, friends and family as he restored the entrance’s steep trail.
Troop members, family, and friends assisted in clearing bramble along over one hundred feet of trail, Park wrote in a letter to the Enterprise. After the bramble clearing, the group succeeded in digging a two-foot wide and one-foot deep trench along the trail to channel the rainwater that floods the trail each winter.
The project was completed by finishing off the trail with nearly ten cubic yards of crushed rock wheel-barrowed along the trail, raked out, and smoothed into a level surface.
Park is a freshman at Edmonds-Woodway High School.
