Attempted Edmonds robbery

Edmonds Police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred shortly after 4 p.m., Aug. 1 at the Westgate Wells Fargo ATM, 9727 Edmonds Way.

A 69 year-old man told officers he just finished with the ATM and turned to walk back to his car when a suspect tried to grab the victims wallet from his hand. The victim was able to retain his wallet and the suspect fled, last seen running south on 97th Avenue West. No weapon was seen.

Bank surveillance cameras recorded the entire incident.

The suspect is a white male in his early 20s, about six foot, 180 pounds, short brown hair. He was wearing sunglasses, white T-shirt, beige colored shorts with large cargo pockets and dark shoes with white laces.
