An auction to benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Edmonds City Hall in The Brackett Room, 121 5th Ave. N, Edmonds.

The auction is the senior project of Sean Forde, Mountlake Terrace High School student. Forde was friends with Chauncey Jones, who in 2000 was diagnosed with leukemia and died four months later.

Ticket prices are $25 for one or $45 for two at the door. Appetizers and desserts will be served.

For information, call Jill Salsbury at 425-220-4794 or send e-mail to jsalsburyj@msn.com.

Those unable to attend who would like to make a contribution can do so online at http://www.active.com/donate/ltnWA-AK/2302_cauctionLTN.

Forde has been helping raise money for the society for years. A few years ago, friends and family of Jones formed “Chauncey’s Team.”

The group had a Triple Play fundraiser in honor of Jones’ passion for baseball which included a rummage sale, Krispy Kremes sale, car wash and baseball derby.

The group also did an auction in 2004 which raised over $7,000, and they joined the annual “Light the Night Walk” which benefits the Leukemia Society. To date, Chauncey’s Team has raised over $35,000.
