Silver Lake wins tourney
The Silver Lake Boys Blue Fire U-11 soccer team took first place at the Snohomish Bigfoot tournament Aug. 24. The Blue Fire defeated the Cascade Select Fusion 2-1 in the finals. Elliott Hylton and Bartosz Dabkowski each scored a goal.
Area golfers take first
Lawson Abinatia of the Mill Creek County Club took first place in the day amateur 50-54 gross division at the 2003 Nooksack River Casino Senior Washington Open Aug. 14-16 at Lake Padden Golf Course. Lake Forest Park’s Rick Adell along with teammates Larry Daniels, Ramer Holtan and Duke Moscrip won the team 1 gross net division title.
Cathy Uptain of the Mill Creek Country Club took first place in the amateur gross division at the Western Washington Chapter PGA Pro-Member series event Aug. 22 at Lynnwood Golf Course.
