Mav standout places 16th

Meadowdale’s Daniel Stabbert was the area’s top finisher at last weekend’s state cross country championships at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.

Stabbert finished 16th in the Class 3A boys race. Teammates Chris Kratz placed 60th and Duncan Hendrick was 67th.

In the Class 4A boys race, Edmonds-Woodway’s Michael Stewart and Derry Betts finished 19th and 24th, respectively.

Edmonds-Woodway freshman Kate Southcote-Want placed 23rd in the Class 4A girls race. Lynnwood’s Natalya Boyko was 81st in the Class 3A girls race.

The Wrestling Rhinos Folkstyle Wrestling Challenge is set for Nov. 15 at Nathan Hale High School (10750 30th Ave. NE., Seattle).

Registration starts at 6:30 a.m., weigh-ins are from 7-8 a.m. and matches begin at 10 a.m. USA Wrestling weight classes will be used and the entry fee is $15.
