Houvener places first

Paul Houvener of the Mill Creek Country Club took first place in the amateur gross division at a Western Washington Chapter PGA Pro-Member Series event Sept. 29 at the Sahalee Country Club.

Hoop coaches needed

The Everett Boys and Girls Club is looking for coaches for its seventh- and eighth-grade boys and girls basketball programs. Coaches are needed at Evergreen, North and Heatherwood middle schools. For more information call Dan Hornyak at 425-259-5147.

Jackson faces Kamiak

The Western Conference 4A South Division race will become a little clearer tonight when two of the three undefeated teams face off. Jackson faces Kamiak in a 7 p.m. game tonight at Goddard Stadium. Both teams come into the game tied for first place in the league with 3-0 records. Mariner, also 3-0, takes on Meadowdale at 8 p.m. at Edmonds Stadium.
