Mav earns soccer honor
Meadowdale defender Alexandra Dunsdon has been named to the 2004 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Adidas High School Scholar All-America team.
The 34 honorees will be recognized at the NSCAA All-America Luncheon Jan. 15 in Baltimore, Md., as part of the annual convention of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Terrace boy finishes race
Matthew Jenson, an 8-year-old from Mountlake Terrace, was the youngest finisher in the 19-and-under division at the Seattle Half Marathon Nov. 26 in Seattle. Jenson finished 99th in his division.
Jenson, a third-grader at Evergreen Elementary, completed the 13.1-mile course in 2 hours, 13 minutes and 52 seconds. Jenson started training about two months before the race. His longest run prior to the annual race was 9 miles.
Next month Jenson plans to run in the Las Vegas Half Marathon.
