Bothell rider wins in finals

Bothell’s Amanda Moore, an 11-year-old rider, finished first in the qualifying class at the West Coast Pony Finals championship Nov. 13-14 in Los Angeles.

Riding her pony Serendipity, Moore was one of 24 riders, ages 10-15, who competed in the qualifying class. The course consisted of 12 jumps and the top six riders returned to jump a different course. The two scores from the two rounds were averaged for the final score.

Moore finished third in the first round and first in the second round for an overall average of 78.5.

Biery, Voicu capture race

Matt Biery of Bothell and Dan Voicu of Redmond took first place in the men’s master’s (age group A-B) division Nov. 14 at the Head of the Lake Regatta.

Biery and Voicu are members of the Sammamish Rowing Association.

Fireballs place first in tourney

The GU-15 Fireballs soccer team took first place at the Turkey Shoot in Mukilteo Nov. 21.

The Fireballs scored a 5-0 victory over the Hot Shots from Marysville for their fourth consecutive title.
