A promotion and a new hire at Premera
Premera Blue Cross has named Bill Akers as vice president and general manager of Premera’s Washington Group Market and Beth Johnson has been recruited to replace Akers as the vice president of Premera’s Health Care Delivery Systems. Johnson spent the last six years at Regence Blue Shield, serving as vice president of Network Management and Contract Strategy.
New Lynnwood mayor plans “State of the City” address
Lynnwood Mayor Nicola Smith will present her first “State of the City” address from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th Street SW, Lynnwood. Kids Fishing Day sponsored by Tulalip Cabelas
Tulalip Cabelas, in partnership with the Everett Salmon and Steelhead club, provided all the equipment and tackle for a Free Kids Fishing Day on June 7. Children ages 5 to 15 had the opportunity to fish for free in the company’s portable trout pond. The Seattle Poggie club cleaned and cooked the fish for the children.

Diamond Knot mug club members can renew
Diamond Knot Brewery Mug Club members can renew memberships for the 2014-2015 Mug Club beginning Monday. All renewals need to be requested and paid for at the Brewery &Alehouse or Brewpub at Mountlake Terrace by July 9. New members will be accepted at the annual Mug Club Sign Up Day on July 14. People pay $50 for a membership — or $75 for a couple — for a mug and discounts throughout the year
