Sock hop – 6 p.m. Friday, April 2: La Petite Academy, 13231 Bothell/Everett Highway, is hosting a sock hop to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. There will be burgers and floats for dinner, a silent auction, games and prizes, and a dunk tank. Admission is $5 per person or $20 per family. The dunk tank and auction will cost extra, but food and games are included with admission.

Mill Creek Rotary Auction — 5:30 p.m.-9 p.m., Saturday, April 3: Tickets are on sale for the organization’s largest annual fund raiser. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased, along with sponsorships, by calling John King at 425-337-1316.

The Greater Mill Creek Senior Program, sponsored by the Northshore Senior Center, Washington State University Cooperative Extension and the city of Mill Creek, is looking for volunteer van drivers and clerical help. Call 425-357- 6002.

Rescue Pup, based at Pet Pleasers, corner of 9th Avenue SE and 164th Street SE, is a non-profit organization that finds homes for stray sick and injured dogs, regularly needs donations to cover veterinary expenses. Call 425-742-6072.

DARE chocolate shield fund raiser: Mill Creek police are selling police department chocolate shields for $2 to benefit the DARE program. The shields were made from a mold that was designed with the Mill Creek water wheel and the words “Mill Creek Police.” The shields can be purchased at the police department’s service counter inside City Hall, 15728 Mill Creek Blvd.

Martha Lake

All Aboard Arts, a part of USA Arts of Washington, is seeking volunteers for their art classes from 2-4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, at Martha Lake Community Club. These classes include people with disabilities. Volunteers assist in guiding and directing students in the many facets of art. Info: 425-513-1401.
