Call for photographers: The Edmonds Arts Commission seeks original photographs depicting someone reading for the “Everybody Reads” photo contest. Photographs may be black and white or color, your own original work, never published, and reflect the theme of people reading in some way. Limit two entries per person with a $10 fee per entry. Entrants must be 18 or older. Cash awards, sponsored by Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation (EAFF), will be given for First ($300 purchase award), Second ($125) and Third ($75) Place. Up to 20 selected entries will be exhibited at the Edmonds Library during the Write on the Sound Writers’ Conference, Oct. 3-5 through the end of the month. Deadline: 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19. Call for artists: The Mountlake Terrace Arts Commission is seeking paintings, prints, drawings, miniatures, calligraphy, photographs and 3-Dimensional works for its 30th Annual Juried Art Show, set for Sept. 27 to Oct. 4 at the Mountlake Terrace Library. Entries are due Saturday, Aug. 30. Call for women singers: The Seattle Shores Chorus is currently seeking new female voices and will be hosting a prospective member night, Tuesday, Aug. 26. The Chorus sings all types of musical repetoire in four part accapella harmony. The award winning group has toured nationally and performs in numerous venues locally. Call for young artists: The Junior Art Show at the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival seeks paintings, prints, drawings, non-digital photography, sculpture, fine art crafts (artisans’ works), digital photography and collage/mixed media from young artists.
