Cascade Conference names all-spring teams

Archbishop Murphy boys soccer team, the Class 2A state runner-up, had four players named to the all- Cascade Conference first team.

Senior Justin Ryan was recognized as the offensive player of the year.

Forward Alex Bickmann, midfielder Riley Cartwright and defender Joey Jensen also were first-team selections.

Archbishop Murphy’s Shiloh Keo was named the most valuable player for baseball. Also earning first-team honors were Archbishop Murphy outfielder Nick Muller and pitcher John-Paul Blair.

Archbishop Murphy’s Kaitlyn Kennedy earned defensive most valuable player for softball. Teammates Kayelynne Huggins, Kaitlin Duffy and Kristin Ehlebracht also were recognized with first-team honors.

Wildcats coach Brad Johnson was named co-coach of the year along with Granite Falls’ Josh Lowe and Cedarcrest’s Frank McComb.

Archbishop Murphy’s Christine Wemhoff and Michelle Grome were first-team selections in girls golf. Archbishop Murphy’s Mitch Kane and Cameron Zwaller were named to the first team in boys golf.
