Bitter Lake Community Center, Bitter Lake Family Center, and Shoreline Family Support Center will host a multi-cultural community-building event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at the Bitter Lake Community Center, 13035 Linden Ave. N., Seattle.
With the theme of “Many Voices, One Hope,” this free event highlights the food, clothing, entertainment, displays and music of the many cultures that enrich Shoreline and North Seattle neighborhoods. Friends and neighbors are invited to bring a favorite family dish for the potluck table, dress in traditional clothing from around the world and enjoy a lively evening designed for the whole family and for individuals of all ages.
This sixth annual peace event evolved out of the ESL (English as a Second Language) classes at the Shoreline and Bitter Lake Family Centers. In collaboration with the Bitter Lake Community Center, it has grown to be a major community-building event celebrating both cultural uniqueness and common goals for healthy, peaceful communities. Last year’s event drew over 400 people.
