Cottage housing meeting scheduled
A Special Meeting to discuss cottage housing with the Shoreline City Council is set for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Shoreline Fire Department Headquarters, located at 17525 Aurora Ave. N Shoreline.
All Shoreline citizens, developers, and other interested parties are invited to take part in a community dialogue on the subject of cottage housing in Shoreline. The event is hosted by the Shoreline City Council.
The purpose of the Community Dialogue is to provide an opportunity for citizens to engage in a dialogue with both the City Council and the Planning Commission. Rather than give testimony in a formal hearing format, citizens will be invited to sit at the table for an informal exchange of ideas, questions and suggestions between and among the members of the community and the Council.
There will be a brief staff overview of the history of the cottage housing issue in Shoreline as well as a summary by the Planning Commission of its recommendations on how the city should proceed. There will be no action taken by the Commission or Council at this event. The City Council will conduct a public hearing on the subject of the cottage housing ordinance at its meeting of Jan. 23 in anticipation of taking formal action on the cottage housing ordinance in February, 2006.
