Tis’ the season for construction and the partial road closures that accompany it.
Four separate construction projects have resulted in the closure of lanes on four different roads in the greater Mill Creek area. In addition, 35th Avenue SE will be closed for three days next week for construction work.
In terms of lane closures, one lane of 41st Avenue SE just off 148th Street SE will be closed between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. until Oct. 6. The closure is to allow crews to install frontage improvements.
Another lane closure is on 180th Street SE between 25th Drive SE and 29th Drive SE. It is in effect between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. until Aug. 31. The closure is to allow crews to replace a sewer line.
The third closure is on 148th Street SE east of 42nd Avenue SE. It is in effect between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. until Aug. 20. Crews are installing a water line tie-in for Gold Creek Community Church.
The fourth closure is on 41st Avenue SE and 156th Street SE. It is in effect between 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. until Oct. 8 so crews can install utilities and make frontage improvements for a new development.
In addition to the partial closures, the county is planning to close 35th Avenue SE to all through traffic for three days starting at 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18 through 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21.
County public works crews will be installing a culvert during that time, and detours will be posted.
