Shorecrest senior Jeff Cottrell placed 17th at the Class 3A state cross country championships Nov. 9 at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.
Cottrell, who took 83rd at last year’s 4A state meet, was the third Western Conference runner to finish in a time of 16:51. Meadowdale’s Adam Shimer was second and Lynnwood’s Daniel Mayan took 14th.
In the girls 4A race, Shorewood senior Tiffany Passi completed the 3.1-mile course in 20:43 to finish 86th.
