EVERETT — Cougar Gold cheese. Crimson-and-gray sweatshirts. And Wine By Cougars.

All of it can be found at the new Cougar Connection store that opened last week in downtown Everett. The grand opening for the store is planned May 16 and 17.

The store at 2809 Colby Ave. is a physical presence for Washington State University in Everett.

WSU is set to take over administration of the University Center of North Puget Sound in north Everett next July. WSU President Elson Floyd made the decision to open the alumni store in Everett as a sign of the college’s investment in the community.

This is only the second WSU Connections store. The other one opened in Seattle in 2004.
