Lakeview Grill (at Ballinger Lakes Golf Course, 23000 Lakeview Dr., Mountlake Terrace; 425-775-6467): Patio dining and picturesque views of the great outdoors provide a delightful setting most local restaurants can’t match. Menu includes fish &chips, Ballinger burgers, deli sandwiches, chicken strips and grilled hotdogs. Dishes come with soup, salad or fries; Appetizers and a variety of beers and wines are available. Avg. meal cost: $6.95 to $8.50. (Reviewed May 7)

Maddox Grill (18411 Hwy. 99, Lynnwood; 425-778-2223): Settling in well in its new Lynnwood home, the move from Richmond Beach has been an opportunity to expand and has enlivened their menu of fresh seafood and Northwest cuisine. With the combination of the food and the atmosphere — relaxed, wholesome and comfortable — the restaurant will be a winner among food-oriented individuals, groups of friends and families. Average meal price: $14. (Reviewed April 30)

Claire’s Pantry (800 164th St. SE., Mill Creek; 425-743-2333): Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a broad selection of traditional American staples, including breakfast, seafood, Italian entrees, sandwiches, burgers and salads. A perfect place to take a family, but a single person can eat there and enjoy themselves too. (Reviewed April 23)

Bonefish Grill (22616 Bothell Everett Hwy., Bothell; 425-485-0305): The neo-mediterranean ambience of this specialty seafood eatery isn’t the work of some enterprising Puget Sound restauranteur, but it still rises above its corporate origins. Attentive servers, dressed in chef whites, come in quick and regular succession. Seafood and steak dishes are deliciously seasoned, slightly crisp on the outside, tender inside; the carmelized crust of the créme brulée tops off a satisfying meal. Average plate cost: $6.70-$14.70 appetizers; $15.50-$22.50 main course. (Reviewed April 16)

Thai Menu (402 164th St. SW, Lynnwood; 425-745-9323): A menu overflowing with possibilities includes Chicken Satay, sliced chicken marinated in herbs and spices, served with peanut sauce and cucumber salad; Phad Thai, pan fried noodles with eggs, bean curd and bean sprouts with a choice of meat, topped off with ground peanuts; coconut ice cream or sweet black rice topped with coconut milk for dessert. A welcoming atmosphere is matched by attentive service. Average meal price: $7.65- $9.95. (Reviewed March 26)
