Edmonds-Woodway is No. 1.
The Warriors locked up no worse than a tie for the Wesco South title and earned the South’s No. 1 seed to the 4A District 1 playoffs with a 25-11, 25-6, 25-5 victory over Glacier Peak Oct. 30 at Edmonds-Woodway High School.
“They really took care of things tonight,” Warriors head coach Mike Pittis said. “It’s a nice payoff for a good season.”
Hannah Lauber had 12 kills and Leigh Fishback had 24 assists to lead Edmonds-Woodway (8-0 in league, 11-2 overall). Junior Haley Scott earned the game ball with nine kills, six aces and some “real strong defense” according to Pittis.
“It’s the first time we’ve ever had the (number) one seed going in so its nice,” Pittis said. “Hopefully, we’ll play up to that when we get there.”
