A solo exhibition by Edmonds artist Lisa Jones-Moore is currently on display at Kindred Circle Art Gallery in Edmonds.

Jones-Moore’s focus on softly edged landscapes reveals her belief that one’s personal inner journey can be reflected in the tangible reality of our natural landscape. The way she captures a landscape shows her process of growth in the inner landscape of her soul. She hopes to allow the viewer to “look behind the curtain” where the inner life is revealed.

A graphic artist and designer in San Francisco, she worked in the interiors industry there. After 20 years of designing other people’s art in the commercial art field, it became clear that her next step was to do art for herself. A painting class at a local community college back in 1990 became the turning point.

Her early training focused on painting out of doors. That suited her personally, having grown up in the Colorado mountains and loving the outdoors. The past two years have brought a series of personal situations along that have pulled her inside much more, and this change is reflected in her recent paintings.
