Performance duo Eth-Noh-Tec makes a special stop July 22 at the Third Place Commons Stage in Lake Forest Park as part of the King County Library System’s StoryFest program.
Robert Kikuchi-Yngojo and Nancy Wang stage stories by combining precision choreography, music, lyrical word weaving and a playful attitude.
Layering ancient Asian mythologies, folktales and urban legends with Asian American sensibilities, they create a new blend of storytelling and kinetic theater. Their stories originate from countries throughout Asia, including China, Tibet, Japan, Cambodia and the Philippines.
Founded in 1982, Eth-Noh-Tec performs throughout the United States and abroad with several storytelling theater programs, workshops and residencies. Presenting over 350 shows a year in numerous festivals, educational institutions, theaters and conferences throughout the U.S. and abroad, the duo has also appeared on television and radio shows such as NPR’s “All Things Considered.”
This performance is part of the King County Library System’s fifth annual StoryFest, a three-day event based in Bellevue celebrating storytelling in all its forms.
Eth-Noh-Tec’s all ages program is presented at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 22 on the Third Place Commons Stage, located in Lake Forest Park Towne Center, 17171 Bothell Way NE. For more information call the Lake Forest Park Library at 206-362-8860.
